Community groups encouraged to apply for Water Heritage Day Grants Scheme 2025

The Local Authority Waters Programme have opened the Grants Scheme for Heritage Week 2025.

The programme is a national shared service working on behalf of the 31 local authorities in Ireland coordinating efforts to achieve good water quality in rivers, lakes, estuaries, ground and coastal water.

Community groups are encouraged to apply under the ‘Water Heritage Day Grants Scheme 2025’ to celebrate Water Heritage Day on Sunday the 24th of August.

Grants awarded will range from €50 to €400 towards the initiative, from a total fund of €30,000 nationwide.

Events and initiatives should be held on Water Heritage Day - Sunday 24th August or during National Heritage Week on August 16th to 24th.

Events must be registered on the Heritage Council website before Friday July 25th.
