Communities in the Kilgarvan, Silahertane and Inchincoosh areas are encouraged to apply for funding to improve sustainable energy resources in their area.
Funding is still available to community groups and initiatives as part of Ørsted's Community Benefit Fund 2025.
The funding supports groups that engage in community services, energy efficiency and sustainability, educational programmes, as well as medical and health assistance.
It is carried out by Ørsted in accordance with Wind Energy Ireland (WEI) best practices
Community groups such as Kilgarvan Central School, and Kilgarvan GAA Club have availed of funding in previous years.
In 2024, Glenflesk National School were awarded €4,000 worth of funding which allowed them to invest in a suite of laptops, as well as new equipment to support the new primary maths curriculum.
Applications remain open until the 31st of December and groups can apply through the Ørsted website
