A decision on first communion and confirmation ceremonies in Kerry depends on when public church services are allowed to resume.

The comments follow queries from Radio Kerry listeners about the sacraments, which would have been due to take place next month.

Sr Noreen Quilter, who oversees primary religious education with the Diocese of Kerry, says it is understandable that children and parents are anxious and excited to do the ceremonies.

She says the reopening of church services to the public will be a key factor in deciding plans for first communions and confirmations in Kerry:
