Kerry Sinn Féin is holding a commemoration this evening, to mark the 81st anniversary of the death of IRA volunteer Charlie Kerins.
Known as “The Boy from Tralee,” Kerins was executed in Mountjoy Jail on the 1st of December 1944 under orders from the de Valera government.
The commemoration starts at the Pikeman Monument on Denny Street at 7pm, followed by a procession to the Charlie Kerins Monument on Strand Street.
Immediately afterwards, at 8pm, Kerry Sinn Féin will host a public talk on the Boundary Commission, marking its centenary.
This will take place at Kerins O’Rahillys Clubhouse.
This evening's commemoration will be chaired by Cllr Deirdre Ferris, with the main address delivered by Cllr Paul Daly.
