Funding available under the Government’s CLÁR programme has been expanded to include five additional areas in Kerry.
110 areas have been added across Ireland, including Ardfert, Arabela, Brewsterfield, Castleisland, and Scartaglin.
CLÁR provides funding for small scale projects in designated rural areas that have experienced significant levels of population decline.
The announcement was made today by Minister of State for Rural and Community Development, Jerry Buttimer.
It was welcomed by Minister Norma Foley, Senator Mike Kennelly, Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, and Deputies Michael Cahill and Danny Healy-Rae.
The 2026 programme, with an increased budget of €12 million, is now open for applications.
