The three Tralee sisters who won the overall prize at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition this year were honoured at a civic reception yesterday.
Kerry County Council hosted the reception for Ciara, Saoirse, and Laoise Murphy after yesterday’s monthly council meeting.
They won for their project called 'Aid Care Treat', a medical assistance app designed to support emergency healthcare response.
The girls’ parents Seamus and Theresa, grandparents John and Patricia, principal of their school Presentation in Tralee Mairéad Finucane, and science teacher Helena Madigan, also attended.
Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Cllr Breandán Fitzgerald, told the reception that Ciara, Saoirse, and Laoise are not just recipients of the BT Young Scientist award, they are pioneers.
