Citizenship Ceremonies which had been due to take place in Killarney next week are being postponed due to the ongoing fuel protests.

A statement issued by the Kerry branch of the Irish Hotels Federation says that the Citizenship Division at the Department of Justice, An Garda Síochána in Killarney and management at The Gleneagle have treated this matter as an urgent priority and it is anticipated the ceremonies planned for 14th April will now take place on the 22nd June, and those scheduled for 15th April will now take place on the 23rd June

They say they will continue to provide updates as further information becomes available.

The statement advises that where possible and at the hotel’s own discretion, guests should be advised not to cancel their existing bookings, as these will be automatically transferred to the new ceremony dates where feasible and availability allows.
