The chair of Tralee Tidy Towns is welcoming the increase in price for litter fines.
From September 1st, the price of a fine for littering will rise to €250; that’s up from €150.
Brendan O'Brien, who is the chair of Tralee Tidy Towns, says it’s a welcome move, however, he says he'd prefer if the fine rose even higher.

He says people are regularly dumping on the roadside and in bins in towns.
