The Chair of the Kerry branch of the Irish Hotels' Federation is condemning the new record keeping regulations.

The new rule that requires restaurants and pubs to keep a record of what customers have ordered for 28 days.

The measure has faced major backlash from publicans and restaurateurs.

Minister Simon Harris admits there's been a lack of clarity around the issue and says they're simply asking businesses to keep a copy of the receipt.

National vice president of the Irish Hotels' Federation, Bernadette Randles, from the Dromhall Hotel Killarney, says the measure will be challenging for businesses like hers and will be costly for smaller rural pubs:
