The cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council will travel to the United States this weekend to attend a number of St Patrick’s Day engagements.
During the visit, councillor Michael Foley, will meet with civic, business and political leaders.
He will join the Kerry Association during the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Fifth Avenue on Tuesday.
Cathaoirleach Michael Foley will be accompanied by the council's director of finance, Angela McAllen, and acting director of culture, Bridget Fitzgerald.
They will meet with representatives of IDA North America and Tourism Ireland North America, and will also visit the Irish Arts Center.
While in New York, the cathaoirleach will visit the 9/11 Memorial, where he will lay a wreath, and he will also attend the 56th Annual Kerry Association Dinner Dance.
Cllr Foley says his aim is to promote Kerry as an attractive destination for international investment, business and tourism.
Meanwhile, the cathaoirleach of the Killarney Municipal District, Cllr Martin Grady, will be accompanied to London by the director of economic development, James Nolan.
They will attend the St Patrick’s Day Parade in the city and will take part in a series of engagements with members of the Irish diaspora and with business and community organisations.
