The R551 between Drommartin and Ballyduff is expected to reopen in the next half hour.
Local diversions are in place as one unit from Ballybunion Fire Service attends a car fire near Drommartin Cross.
Gardaí were alerted to the blaze at around quarter past seven this morning.
