There are calls for Uisce Éireann to provide an update on the new wastewater treatment plant for Kenmare.
Independent councillor Dan McCarthy made the call.
He says the issue has been going on for over three years and says the town needs this wastewater treatment plant as well as a new water source for the town.
Councillors have previously raised concerns about the development of housing being stalled in the area due to capacity issues at the treatment plant.
Uisce Éireann says the €25 million upgrade to the Kenmare Wastewater Treatment Plant is due to be completed in the coming months.

In September last year it emerged that developers of multi-unit housing projects in Kenmare must provide an alternative water supply to the homes until a new public scheme becomes available.
Uisce Éireann says long-term solutions to improve the water supply in Kenmare are being actively progressed but remain at an early investigation stage.
The utility says this work is focused on identifying and developing sustainable additional water sources for the Kenmare Water Supply Scheme.
