Kerry County Council has been urged to put up more road signs indicating areas where there are difficult travelling conditions.
The motion was put forward by Fianna Fáil Cllr Norma Moriarty at the recent Kenmare MD meeting.
She emphasised the need for clear warnings on roads unsuitable for large vehicles.
In response, Kerry County Council said additional signs are to be put up on the R564 between Rossbeigh and Drom
Cllr Moriarty also highlighted Bealach Oisin, Molls Gap, Bealach Beama, and the Conor Pass as roads where unsuspecting drivers found themselves in potentially dangerous
situations.
She said it was clear that the required signage would not be in place for this summer, and that it needs to be a priority before the next tourist season.
