Calls have been made for improved and new facilities for young people in a Mid Kerry town.
It comes as over a quarter of Milltown’s population is aged fourteen and under.
The Milltown Town Centre First Masterplan published last year, examined the need to provide more amenities for young people in the town and surrounding areas.
Among those calling for action is Milltown FC, which was founded four years ago.
Listry native John Mannix is involved with the club, his son Jack plays for Milltown FC, which is looking for a permanent home pitch.
John Mannix says the time for talk around better amenities is over, action is needed now:
Meanwhile, there is a major parking shortage in Milltown which needs to be addressed.
That’s according to Therese Breen, who owns Willow Café in the town and is also involved in the Tidy Towns committee.
She believes the lack of sufficient parking is an obstacle for potential new businesses in Milltown.
