There are calls for a driving test centre to be opened in Listowel.
Fine Gael councillor Aoife Kennelly raised the issue at the monthly meeting of Kerry County Council.
She asked for the Road Safety Authority and the Minister for Transport to examine the possibility of opening such a centre there.

She says this is about fairness and equality of access, with the closest test centre for people living in North Kerry located in Tralee.
Cllr Kennelly says that could be more than a 40-minute drive for some people in the North Kerry area.
She also referenced the long-wait times for driving tests and told the meeting there was an increasing demand for driving tests in rural communities.
