There are calls for clarity on the restructuring plans at suicide prevention charity Pieta in Kerry.
This comes as Pieta announced it is closing its centre in Moyderwell in Tralee, with administrative staff to lose their jobs.
However, the charity says it’s working to secure a new location in Tralee over the coming months and it’s not leaving the town.
Fine Gael Cllr Angie Baily has concerns the service could be withdrawn from the county, moved online or moved to nearby counties.
She says she’s concerned there’ll be a reduction in the service and that it’ll no longer accessible in-person in Kerry:
Pieta operates a 24-hour crisis helpline and anyone seeking help can call 1800 247 247.
