Calls for critical funding to be allocated for accident blackspot in North Kerry

There is a critical need for funding to be allocated for an accident blackspot in North Kerry. Fine Gael councillor Aoife Thornton raised the issue

There is a critical need for funding to be allocated for an accident blackspot in North Kerry.

Fine Gael councillor Aoife Thornton raised the issue at the Listowel Municipal District meeting.

She called for a letter to be sent to the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan, to highlight the need for urgent funding for the Dale road, also known as the R556 Rathscannel road.

This road is built on bog and has subsided considerably; it’s also been the scene of many accidents.

The road has been closed since July 2019 and councillor Aoife Thornton says the road needs to reopen as soon as possible.
