Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue has praised beach goers for raising the alarm after observing people in difficulty in the water today.
It’s after the group, Gardaí and the coast guard were tasked to an incident in Ballybunion at 11.30am, by Valentia Coastguard.
Beach goers raised the alarm after two surfers were observed getting into difficulty in the sea.
The rescue service launched its IB1 boat to the scene, and undertook a search of the cliff line.

Both surfers made it ashore and the tasking was stood down.
The groups PRO, Omar Fitzell says if you see someone in difficulty in the water, always dial 999 or 112; adding BSCR always prefers to launch and stand down than face a delay in responding.
