The book of evidence against a North Kerry man accused possessing a large quantity of drugs is expected soon.
26-year-old Danny Cronin of Knockavallig, Duagh, appeared in Tralee District Court recently facing charges relating to the possession over €100,000 worth of cocaine.
Danny Cronin appeared before Judge David Waters via video-link from Cork Prison.
He is accused of the possession of cocaine, and possession of the drug for sale or supply, at Knockavallig, Duagh, last November.
A previous sitting heard that the estimated of value of the drugs is €117,500.
At Tralee District Court, Sergeant Chris Manton said the book of evidence in relation to the case is not yet available.
Mr Cronin’s solicitor, Pat Mann stated that the matter has been ongoing for a long time and his client has made no application.
He urged the state to expedite the book of evidence.
Sgt Manton advised that the file in the case has been with the DPP since April and the book of evidence is expected in the next few weeks
Judge David Waters previously refused jurisdiction, meaning Mr Cronin’s case will be heard in the Circuit Court, which has wider sentencing powers on conviction.
He remanded Danny Cronin in continuing custody to appear before Tralee District Court on May 20th for the book of evidence to be served.
