Biennial Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race finishes

The biennial Volvo Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race has finished.

A fleet of 40 entries and 250 sailors set off from Dun Laoghaire in county Dublin at 2pm on Wednesday, 11^th June bound for West Kerry.

The so called D2D is a 270 nautical mile course.

Frank Whelan ’s Elliott 57, Opal, from Greystones Sailing Club, took clear line honours, finishing at the entrance of Dingle harbour at 9:32pm on Thursday.

There was more than three hours later that the Hall family's Lombard 46 Pata Negra finished on Saturday morning (at 1:11am), eleven minutes ahead of Conor Doyle of Kinsale Yacht Club.

The final boat arrived back at 08:04 this morning, Saturday.
