The cost of buying a home in Kerry jumped by over 15% in the year to August.
That’s according to the CSO’s Residential Property Price Index.
It shows the average house price in the county at the end of August was €282,000, up from €245,000 on the same period last year.
The cost of residential dwellings across all of the Eircode areas in Kerry rose over the twelve months.
Homes in the V31 Listowel area say the highest increase, with a 22.5% rise in the year to €245,000 (up from €200,000).
Meanwhile, houses with a V93 eircode are the most expensive in Kerry, costing on average €315,000 at the end of August (an over 8% rise).
Tralee – V92 , and Cahersiveen – V23 also saw increases in the period, of 14.3% and 6.6% respectively.
Homes with a P51 eircode rose by over 2% to €251,500 in the year.
Over the county bounds, residential properties in the V94 area (which includes Abbeyfeale, Athea and Glen) cost on average €340,000, an almost 18% jump.
