An appeal has been launched for local volunteers to form a Cardiac First Responders team in the Sneem area.
The goal is to build a trained team of at least six community members, who will receive full training and ongoing support.
The team will be equipped to respond to cardiac arrest, stroke, chest pain, and choking incidents, in the vital first minutes before ambulance crews arrive.
The initiative is overseen by the Killarney Cardiac Response Unit, while the new Sneem unit will be integrated into the National Ambulance Service’s 999/112 call-out system.
Anyone interested can contact local coordinator for the initiative, John Moses, on 085 8810922.
