Ambulance workers picketing outside UHK "delighted" with public support

Ambulance workers picketing outside University Hospital Kerry (UHK) say they are "delighted" with the public's support.

According to SIPTU, 250 of its members in Kerry are striking because the HSE has not updated their pay scale or conditions, despite dramatically increased responsibilities over the past two decades.

Pickets are in place at Tralee and Killarney.

They're among around 2,000 National Ambulance Service (NAS) staff taking part in the 24-hour work stoppage across the country until eight o'clock tomorrow morning.
