€495,750 in funding has been announced for five piers in Kerry.
The funding is being provided to Kerry County Council for five marine infrastructure projects.
It's been welcomed by Kerry TDs Minister Norma Foley, Deputy Michael Cahill and Deputy Michael Healy Rae, and Senator Mike Kennelly.
The Department of the Marine administers the annual Local Authority Marine Infrastructure Scheme to part-fund capital investment in council-owned coastal facilities.
Fenit Pier and Knightstown Breakwater are to receive €187,500 each.
Kerry County Council will provide the remaining €62,500 required for the structural repair of Fenit Pier, and the extra €267,500 needed to upgrade the mooring at Knightstown Breakwater.
The scheme granted €52,500 to repair the sea wall at Brandon Pier, with Kerry County Council covering the €17,500 shortfall.
Kilmakilloge Pier will get €38,250.00 to upgrade the lifting arm, topped up by €12,750 from the local authority.
And the department granted Portmagee €30,000 to build an access control barrier, with the council providing the final €10,000.
