Almost €100,000 in funding has been announced for community projects in Kerry.
The funding is for heritage groups, environmental organisations, and tidy towns groups, to support conservation work in peatland areas and Natura 2000 sites.
€40,000 of that will go towards Strickeen Mountain Habitat Restoration, while €12,800 has been allocated for the Kilcummin Walks Project.
€16,000 and €5,000 will go towards rhododendron management or control projects in Lauragh and Sneem respectively.
The Cliffs of Ballybunion Conservation project will receive €5,000, with €835 to go towards a drone survey in Caherdaniel.
The funding has been welcomed by Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, Deputy Danny Healy-Rae, Minister Norma Foley, Deputy Michael Cahill and Senator Mike Kennelly.
