Almost 800 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Kenmare MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 798 applicants in the Kenmare Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Kenmare as one of their three areas of choice.
430 are awaiting one bed units; 217 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 128 are on the list for three-bed units.
23 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while there are zero on the list for five-bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 527 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 11 vacant units in the Kenmare MD; all of these dwellings are awaiting repairs.
