Agreement to transfer Killarney site for new education campus hailed as major milestone

Kerry ETB says the development of a new campus in Killarney has hit a major milestone, with the council agreeing to transfer a long-derelict site.

Kerry county councillors yesterday agreed to transfer the former Pretty Polly and Sara Lee site to Kerry Education and Training Board.

Yesterday’s agreement comes over three years after plans for the redevelopment of the former factory site into an education campus were first announced.

Owen O’Donnell, Director of Further Education and Training with Kerry ETB, says he expects the project can now quickly progress to the design stage.

He says the campus will have a specific focus on hospitality.
