69% of Kerry households who worked with housing charity Threshold were at risk of homelessness this year.
That's according to the latest figures provided by the charity, who have launched their Own Your Rights campaign.
Threshold was founded in 1978 and is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to secure a right to housing, particularly for households experiencing the problems of poverty and exclusion.
The charity is mainly focused on the rental sector.
561 Kerry households have accessed Threshold's services this year alone, and 142 households have avoided homelesses through mediation between the charity, landlords and the RTB.
Nationwide, 18,175 households have worked with Threshold in 2025, with 53% were at risk of homelessness.
The most common reason for homelessness was tenancy termination.
The Own Your Rights campaign is designed to raise renters’ awareness of their rights in the private rental sector.
The campaign is aimed at empowering renters, teaching them about their rights, and letting them know about the supports available to them.
