60 litter complaints were made to Kerry County Council during the first month of the year.
That’s according to figures compiled to the council, which were presented to members at the various Municipal District meetings.
The figures outline the number of complaints, fines issued and court prosecutions for environmental matters.
60 litter complaints were made and investigated by the council during January.
10 fines were issued on foot of these complaints, three of which have been paid to date.
There was also one court conviction during that time, totalling €420.
During the same period, Kerry County Council also investigated 47 waste complaints, along with two air complaints.
Meanwhile, there were also 22 water related complaints investigated by the council during the first month of this year.
There was one court conviction relating to a water complaint during the period, totalling €800.
In total last year, there were 600 litter complaints were made to and investigated by Kerry County Council.
