570 first-time buyers in Kerry approved under the Help to Buy scheme

570 first-time buyers in Kerry have benefitted from the Help to Buy scheme for their first home since the middle of 2020.

Figures released by Tánaiste Simon Harris show that 570 claims for the scheme, covering over 1,000 applicants, have been approved in Kerry since 1st July 2020.

The Help to Buy Scheme provides first-time buyers with a refund of income tax and DIRT to help with the deposit on a new home or self-build, on properties valued up to €500,000.

131 claims approved in Kerry since July 2020 are for buying houses, and 439 were for self-builds.

Tánaiste Simon Harris has welcomed the figures, and says it proves the scheme is working.
