53% increase in number of people in homeless accommodation in Kerry in a year

There was a 53% increase in the number of people in homeless accommodation in Kerry in the year to October.

The Department of Housing’s latest homelessness report shows 66 people were in homeless accommodation in Kerry in the last week of October.

This is up 53% on the same week in 2024, when 43 people were accessing homeless accommodation in this county.

The national total of 16,766 people in homeless accommodation is yet another record.

The figure for homelessness in Kerry in October is a slight decrease since September, when 68 people were in emergency accommodation in Kerry.
