The 43rd annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle is currently underway.
Almost 4,000 cyclists are taking part, from 14 countries including Ireland, with some taking off as early as 20 past 4 this morning, and the last leaving at 8.20am.
An opening ceremony took place at 7.30 this morning, paying tribute to the late Paddy O'Donoghue.
Mr O'Donoghue passed away following a traffic collision in Kilgarvan last month while training for the charity race.
Tributes were also paid to 17 year old Izzy O'Callaghan, who died after falling from a horse in Killarney last week.
Izzy's family play a huge role every year for the charity cycle, proving transport to the race paticipants.
The first of the cyclists to have completed the 170km event are expected to return around 2.30 this afternoon.
