Today marks the 30th anniversary of the killing of a Kerry-born garda.
Detective Garda Jerry McCabe from Ballylongford was shot by the Provisional IRA during an attempted robbery of Adare Post Office in Co Limerick in 1996.
He was 52 at the time and was married with five children.
His family and former colleagues of have gathered in Limerick today for an anniversary mass held at the Holy Rosary Church,
