3 Kerry LEAs record fewer than 5 COVID cases in fortnight

Three local electoral areas in Kerry recorded fewer than five cases of COVID-19 over a two-week period.

That's according to the latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre for LEAs across the country from March 30th to April 12th.

Three of the 18 local electoral areas around the country that recorded fewer than five cases of COVID-19 in the two-week timeframe are located here in Kerry.

Listowel, Kenmare and Corca Dhuibhne LEAs all reported among the lowest levels of the virus and as a result are not given an incidence rate.

Tralee LEA recorded the highest number of cases in the county in the fortnight up to April 12th with 28.
It means it has an incidence rate of 84.8 per 100,000 population.

Killarney LEA had 14 cases, giving it a rate of 47.3 and there were eight cases in Castleisland LEA, leaving it with a rate of 46.7.

Tullamore LEA in Co Offaly continues to have the highest incidence rate of the virus in the country at 408 per 100,000 of population.

The national average incidence rate is 131.7.
