25% of housing applicants in the Corca Dhuibhne MD are in the 30 to 40 age category.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting in response to a question from Cllr Jackie Healy-Rae.
The data, as of March 13th, showed 599 people were awaiting social housing on that date, 148 of whom are aged 30-40.
The 40-50 bracket accounts for the next highest number of applicants in the area, at 148; while 120 people aged between 50-60 are on the list.
69 applicants are in the 25-30 category, 60 are aged between 60-70, 28 are over 70, while 22 are aged under 25.
The figures show over 52% of applicants are awaiting 1-bed units in the Corca Dhuibhne local electoral area.
