There were 22 admitted patients waiting on trolleys in University Hospital Kerry this morning.
That’s according to the latest daily Trolley Watch data from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
15 patients were on trolleys in UHK’s Emergency Department, and a further seven patients were waiting for beds in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
University Hospital Limerick is still the most overcrowded hospital in the country, with over 130 people on trolleys.
The INMO says unless urgent action is taken, we are facing into a summer trolley crisis, with almost 8,000 patients treated on a trolley, chair, or in another inappropriate bed space last month.
