22 patients were on trolleys in University Hospital Kerry today.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives' Organisation says today saw the highest figure of patients waiting for beds in hospitals since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

381 admitted patients were without beds this morning.

The most overcrowded facility was Cork University Hospital with the INMO saying the temporary closure of Bantry General Hospital was a likely contributor to the situation.
