Two separate crashes, one involving four cars, have occurred 100 metres apart on the Inch-Castlemaine Road.
Tralee gardaí say the R561 road is fully blocked following the incidents.
One road traffic collision occurred near Castlemaine, while the other unrelated incident occurred 100 metres away.

The second collision involved four cars.
Emergency services are at the scene and at least one road user has been injured.
Traffic travelling along the R561 and over the Short Mountain is affected.
