18 Parent and Toddler Groups in Kerry are to benefit from over €17,000 (€17,000) in government funding.
It’s part of over €420,000 (€421,618) in supports for 461 groups nationally, announced by Children’s Minister and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley.
The allocation can be used for the purchase of children’s toys and books, refreshments; activities such as arts and crafts; and for first aid courses.
Parent and toddler groups from areas including Ardfert, Ballybunion, Caherdaniel, Castlegregory, Castleisland, Dingle, Glenbeigh, Tralee and Glenbeigh are to benefit.
Nine groups in the county will receive €1,100, while €800 has been allocated to the other nine groups.
The funding is currently distributed to the groups through Kerry Childcare Committee.
The announcement has been welcomed by Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Michael Cahill, and Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly.
