There's been a 150% rise in the number of incidents relating to drug possessions in Kerry for the first six months of the year.
That’s according to data from the Central Statistics Office.
According to the figures, between April and June, there was a 13% rise in overall drug offences in Kerry compared to the same period last year.
192 incidents were recorded across six categories in the Kerry Garda Division in the second quarter of 2025, up from 170 the year before.
Possession of drugs for sale or supply saw a 150% jump during the period, with 25 incidents recorded, up from 10 twelve months previous.
Controlled drugs offenses rose by just under 13%, from 85 to 96.
70 incidents of possession of drugs for personal use were recorded, which is unchanged on last year.
Cultivation or manufacture of drugs also remains unchanged with one incident logged in both Q2 2024 and 2025.
Drug importation crimes fell from one offence to zero; while other drug offences also recorded a decrease from three to no incident in the second quarter of 2025.
