12 Kerry rivers are of poor water quality

12 rivers in Kerry are of poor water quality.

That's according to the Environmental Protection Agency's 2020 Water Indicators Report.

The report inspected over 1,800 river bodies and 43% were unsatisfactory and 230 had worsened over the past 4 years.

The report shows the quality of nearly half of Ireland's rivers and lakes is unsatisfactory.

In Kerry, along with the 12 rivers that are of poor quality, 31 are classed as moderate.

The EPA report says 66 Kerry rivers have good water quality and a further 38 have high water quality.
