Gridlock at filling stations throughout Kerry amid fears of fuel shortages

There’s gridlock around filling stations throughout Kerry as motorists top up their vehicles amid fears of fuel shortages.

A number of stations around the county are now without fuel because deliveries have been postponed in recent days as nationwide protestors continue their action and are blocking critical infrastructure.

Since early this morning long queues have been forming at filling stations around the county as motorists filled up their cars.

Speaking to Radio Kerry News, some people said they were worried about fuel shortages, while others said a sense of panic was setting in as they heard that some large filling stations around the county had run out of fuel.

Motorists stated their were concerned and needed to fill up their tanks ahead of hospital appointments or the commute to work.

This woman travelled to Tralee from Cahersiveen for a medical appointment:

Another man also came from Killarney to Tralee for an appointment at the hospital and he feels the Government should be doing more to help people with rising fuel prices:
