Yesterday the trial of a man accused of dangerous driving causing the death of broadcaster Paudie Palmer collapsed in Cork. The judge ruled a mistrial after it emerged a juror had visited the site of the tragedy and had made conclusions based on that visit. John Galvin is secretary of Kerry Law Society. He explains what jurors can’t do. The consequences are grave as a juror’s action could lead to a trial’s collapse.
