John Loughrey who lives in Castlemaine was nine-years-old when his 36-year-old dad Jim was murdered by loyalist paramilitaries. Yesterday John’s mother Mary and another widow whose husband was murdered by loyalist terrorists, Marie Newton, were awarded six-figure settlements in cases brought against the UK Ministry of Defence and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
