When she was 18 months old, Miriam Moriarty Owens was sent to Tralee’s Pembroke Alms Industrial School, later known as Nazareth House, in 1959. After years of campaigning, a plaque is going to be unveiled on the grounds of the former Nazareth House orphanage in Tralee tomorrow, 25 years after a State apology was issued by the then Taoiseach Bertie Ahern
