United make bid of 85 million euro for Leipzig striker

Manchester United have made a bid of 85-million-euros to RB Leipzig for striker Benjamin Sesko.

The fee is an initial 75-million-euros plus around 10-million in add-ons.

Newcastle have also submitted a second bid of 80-million-euros for the Slovenia international.

Sesko scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak is due to hold talks with Newcastle this week having arrived back at the club.

The Swedish forward had been training at his old club Real Sociedad, while the rest of the Newcastle squad took part in their pre-season tour.

Isak is the subject of interest from Liverpool, who have already had a bid of 140 million euros rejected.

It follows last year's verdict by the European Court of Justice that its transfer rules are unlawful.
