Jerry spoke to Sinn Féin deputy Pa Daly about the need for suicide crisis assessment nurses, something he has raised in the Dáil. The tragic deaths of 23-year-old Stephen McCarthy in Tralee in 2024 and last week of 14-year-old Clancylee Casey whose funeral took place last Friday (23rd January). Both young people were from the Traveller community. Deputy Daly says this isn’t just an issue of concern for the Traveller community but for everyone,. Jerry also spoke to Sharon Roche from Tralee, whose 19-year-old son Sean died by suicide in 2011. Sharon says Kerry needs a 24-hour drop-in service.
