Often memorialised in ballad and in statue, Patrick Sarsfield, nonetheless, remains an enigmatic figure. The Irish soldier died in 1693 and for centuries, where he was buried was a matter of conjecture. Dr Loïc Guyon, who’s honorary consul of France, based in Limerick, and Kenmare-based archaeologist Frank Coyne of Aegis Archaeology are members of the Sarsfield Homecoming Project.
