The Nation’s Voice: Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh 1930 – 2024 – June 26th, 2024

Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh has died at the age of 93. Born in Dún Síon in West Kerry, he went on to become the voice of the GAA. He enjoyed a career spanning over 60 years.  Lyreacrompane’s Joe Harrington, Kerry great Mickey Ned O’Sullivan, sports editor of the Irish Examiner Tony Leen, Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council and PRO for Mícheál’s club Dingle, Breandán Fitzgerald, and comment-line caller Seán de Brún paid tribute to a person whose like we will not see – or hear – again.
