This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Intermediate School Killorglin’s Hogan Cup victory.
This week in 1996, the Mid Kerry school secured college football’s biggest prize in Croke Park.
They defeated St Patrick’s College of Maghera of Derry 4-8 to 1-14 at GAA HQ.
The school’s route to the final included a Corn Ui Mhuiri victory over Colaiste an Spioraid Naoimh of Cork.
It marked a hugely successful year for Killorglin Football, with Laune Rangers winning the All-Ireland Club final just a month earlier.
Former Kerry Footballer Mike Frank Russell was a member of that winning side in 1996.
Speaking on Terrace Talk this evening was Mike Frank and former teacher and coach in the Intermediate School, Brendan Twoome.
